AN ARTISTIC SOUL
A STATE OF MIND, A WAY OF LIFE
Creative expression lies in the heart of Long Island City, and by association, The Forge. Inside and outside, art is an integral part of our everyday life, to be explored, experienced and enjoyed.
THE SCULPTURE CENTER
Located just across the street from The Forge, The Sculpture Center is dedicated to experimental development in contemporary sculpture, featuring temporary installations of emerging artists as well as an ongoing artist-in-residence. The former trolley repair shop was redesigned by artist Maya Lin and expanded in 2014 by Andrew Berman Architects.
FORGE EXHIBITS
Dedicated to advancing and supporting LIC’s artistic culture, rotating exhibits of new and emerging art from local artists will be displayed in public spaces throughout The Forge.
ICONIC ROOSTER MURAL
On permanent display, The Forge Rooster, imagery of a salvaged pieced of street art, is a symbol of The Forge’s dedication to LIC’s creative spirit.
A TASTE OF LONG ISLAND CITY
Long Island City’s cuisine is as discriminating and sophisticated as its art. From coffee shop casual to artisanal cuisine, there’s a restaurant to please every palate.
